The programme has allowed participants to meet the likes of Gordon Brown and Peter Jones, and has also provided them mentors from the BBC, United Nations and other world-changing institutions. What three qualities do I need to be a successful WorldMaker like you?
Try to be nice to people. At school I thought it didn’t really matter what other people thought of me so I didn’t really care what people thought. I told myself it didn’t really matter whether I was nice to them or not. I sort of explained to myself it was two-faced to be nice to people I don’t like. But as I got older I realized that there is genuine value in not making people feel bad about themselves just because you don’t really care or not making people upset. You can get quite far by being pleasant to people and that there is a lot to be had with common decency.
